Hey patna, check the distance of the pedal travel. If its too high, when the pedel hits the stop it will be still holding the clutch in some. Also, check your clutch slave and master cyl, they may be sticking and holding pressure that will, again, be holding the clutch in partly.

Another thing, did you make sure to put the cluth in right? ei not backwards. If its backwards it could slip.

How bad off was the flywheel when you replaced the clutch, you may have needed to resurface it (this would be a severe case if thats the cause of the slipping)

Good luck homie.

you have to break the clutch in before you start boosting. if you boost it straight out of the box the clutch disk surface hasn't broken down any, its still smooth, not only that is hasn't matched up to your pressure plate and flywheel, thus no grip. You need to drive around a bunch about 500miles with a lot of shifting and stop and go driving. No long trips. Stay off the boost and high RPMs untill you've broken in the clutch. As roy said, check you slave and make sure it has its full range of travel, also if its a preformance clutch, you may want to get a steel braided clutch line, k2rd has them for $20

Break in? Too much slippage, too soon and it'll glaze up. Then you've screwed the pooch.

edit: Chris beat me to it, and put it better anyway. If you haven't slipped it too much, maybe it's still salvagable.

I disagree with the suggestions that not breaking in the clutch would cause the slipping. I DO agree that it is important to the life of the clutch to break it in properly. I have done two clutch jobs on TIIs. In both cases I used OEM discs and pressure plates. They both engaged harshly until they were broken in. They were no where near slipping when new. Now.....if you were drag racing with a brand new clutch that's a different story. If the clutch is slipping when boosts kicks in....you've got a problem. Could be the clutch adjustment as suggested above BUT....sorry to say this....it's more likely that the disc is contaminated with oil or the disc may be defective. I had the same problem with the first clutch I did on my TII. I took it back out, replaced the PP with an ACT upgrade and the clutch never slipped again. The disc was also contaminated with a greasy substance, the source of which I never located. Good luck to you. Let us know what you find out.

Todd

What were your symptoms before you changed the clutch? slipping is NOT normal. may be the installation!!!
