New batt, more gas, no start?

Alright I tryed to start it, the dredded battary died so I used the charger engine start, about after 5 mins it turns over alittlethen stops, smells of gas, alot.

We got a new batt, well out of another car, it was smaller but we used the engine start on that batt just so it didnt drain our friends batt much, starts to turn over and dies again smoked pretty bad...

The guy whos bat it was said its outta gas, we got put about 2.5 gal in it, tryed again, no go.

maybe it was flooded, I pulled the EGI fuse, tryed again for a bit, put it back in, no start.

I also noticed the Oil pressure gauge is alot lower then normal, the car turns over I pushed the gas half way, it went to bout 2K rpm shaking pretty bad, the pressure was not even at the first mark.

I also noticed a huge ammount of liquid under the car, like where oil would drip, but theres only a very very minor oil leak, so idk what that could be.

The only other thing I can say is the overfill was FULL, now its way empty and the filler neck is all the way up, usually it was the otherway around, I couldnt seee the coolent in the filler neck, just in the overfill.

idk what to do I think its time for the car to go or rebuild

It's flooded. Pull the plugs and disable the EFI system, then crank to blow everything out of the chambers. Put a few ounces of oil into each chamber and crank it over a few times. Repeat this 3 or 4 times. Now put the plugs back in, reconnect the EFI system, and start the car.

Also, you should know by now that bumps are not allowed in technical forums.

I pulled the egi fuse, dosen't that disable the fuel? Also how do they stay flooded? If theres no gas going into it, wont it come out of the chambers?

Pulling the EGI fuse is fine.

If you have any questions about flooding, you know where to look. It starts with "s" and ends with "h".

The car will be flooded until you unflood it. Oil may be needed to restore the oil film on compression surfaces.

alright thanks

you sure its just flooded, I turned it over for like a minuit with out the EGI fuse, multiple times, it didnt fire up, the only times it'd fire was after turing it over and over and would randomly catch.

I've never had it flood either =[

Only one way to find out. Try the unflooding with oil and see what the result is.

If it doesn't start, then you'll have to do the basic troubleshooting. Fuel? Spark? Compression?

With those three (assuming the timing is right) the engine will start.

Sometimes the only way to solve a serious flooding situation is to push start the car (with another vehicle).

Or unplug the fuel pump at the relay under the dash.. Crank till the car starts, then plug the relay back in.

With an extremely flooded car I have really good luck with the old pop the clutch method. Just make sure you have a lot of momentum going. Of course this isn't possible sometimes.
