Counter Weight For Front part of Diff Mount

Ok, now there is this guy on ebay, selling a differential mount for the nose of the differential. Now the mount doesn't have the counter weight like the one on mazdatrix, and he says it doesn't need it... So I'm just wondering does it need the counter weight, or is this guy just trying to sell the item?

By the way 87 TII

The "counter weight" is not necessary, but it does help dampen vibration and can act as a pinion snubber if the mount breaks.

The Mazda Competition mount does not come with the dampner and it is said you may elect to install the old one from the stock mount or run without one.

So if I put the counter weight on that would stop the vibration, and in the front mount on ther differential what part usually breaks?
