Need some help on a turbo decision.

Hello Guys,
Well ok here we go, i have a 1987 Mazda Rx-7 Turbo it currently has an S5 Motor in it.Now the orignal turbo has a broken oil seal and i dont know to just go with a T04E.

NOW HERES THE QUESTION!

Should i go with the T04E conversion or should i stay with the S5 Turbo?

I am on a budget so thats a big issue i know that its hard to have a custome exhaust manifold made for your car so i was thinking of buying those $75 exhaust manifolds on ebay that have a T04 exhaust flange.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742 or should i stay with the stock S5 turbo. IM LOOKING TO PRODUCE ABOUT 13 TO 14 PSI. Thing is after i get the T04E and Exhaust Manifold how much $$$$$ does it require to complete the swap?and how do i re route the oil lines, water lines??

I know theres several people out there that have done this conversion so please post some pics and some info on what you guys had to do.

Thanks a bunch

Going full T04E is probably not a good idea if you're on a budget. Those manifolds look pretty nice, but stainless has a problem when used for turbo manifolds, it expands a lot when heated. You'll probably want to cut the engine flange in half (separate the runner fittings) or when it expands it may flex and lose sealing.

Man you guys gotta stop be suckers.
If the **** is too cheap, you should automatically put up the red flag.
Try and do a web search on "stone racing".
These things are a piece of ****.
"You get what you pay for."

Here's a rule of thumb for going with a full turbo upgrade...
HAVE $5,000 IN THE BANK TO DO THIS MOD CORRECTLY.
Trying to do this with a stock ECU is NOT RECOMMENDED.
TRYING TO GET CHEAP WILL BITE YOU IN THE ***.

Ask all the guys who are running full turbo upgrades and ask them for their experience.

YOU REALLY NEED AN FMIC.
I don't see an FMIC listed in your mods list.
Even with "cheap" eBay cores, you still need to take care of piping, and I can't see doing this complete job UNDER $500.

Your 2x720 secondaries is NOT ENOUGH FUEL.
YOU NEED BIGGER FUEL INJECTORS.

YOUR 2.5" EXHAUST IS TOO SMALL.
You really need a 3" full exhaust to take advantage of the huge increase of exhaust flow.
If you try and use this 2.5" system, you'll choke the turbo on the top end.
I just recently tuned an H-trim hybrid on a 2.5" exhaust, and while it made HUGE increases in torque at around 4kRPM, it fell flat on it's face after 5,000RPM.
The owner has recently changed over to a 3" exhaust, and the engine and turbo screams all the way to 7.5k redline - Haltech E6K controlled.

Please, stop asking us how to do this cheaply.
If you can't afford it, stick with a hybrid or compressor upgrade.
There is nothing wrong with going this route.
A hybrid can make BIG power.
And anyone who says 350hp to 400hp on an FC is not enough, they are full of ****.

If you insist on doing a full turbo upgrade, please check out the HKS cast turbo exhaust manifolds.
These are the best for the money, and it will OUTLAST all this (SS) tube crap on eBay.
