Need MDS 6AL Install Instructions.

Been searching for 2 hours with no results as FC3SPRO.ORG is now out of the picture.

Anyone have a backup of the procedure? Pics of your current setup? Anything will help.

Using MSD 6AL, stock coil etc...

Thanks!!

Ben

Not trying to threadjack but I have been thinking about getting a 6AL for my 7 and I was wondering how well the rev limiter function works since it would only be cutting spark on the leading side??

I read somewhere that the trailing plugs can keep the engine reving very easy at high RPM. So the Rev limiter function is useless unless you have a mutliple CDI box setup, and even then would be really tough to implement. A standalone would work though.

unless you get the 6al for a good deal used dont spend the extra money on it unless you plan on buying more, I think you would actually need 3 boxes total to use the rev limiter.

if you wnat to know how to wire up the 6AL to the leading coil I have it ON my car,and I think I have the paper with the Wiring,somewhere..PM me,.I can ship it over to you..
This will just be wiring the ONE BOX in and OUT of the leading coil,.that is IT.,.no limiter,or other Crap on the car.
if you want a better '
"mousetrap" look into the HKS Twin power.

I have the MSD already. (paid 70$)

I just need pics on where to attach the magnetic pickup and how to hook up to the leading coil.

Pics of your setup and wire connections would be awesome Styx!
Thanks again.

The computer is not the problem... tried with different browsers, reinstalled Windows, tried with the PS3.. nothing works for that site.

The link you provided is incomplete for the coil install and doesn't even mention the magnetic pickup hook-up.

The week long search for a member that can spare 15 minutes to printscreen and host pics on photobucket from the fc3spro.com instructions continues...

the only thing fc3s says about the magnetic pick up is that the thin green out of the MSD is the negative and the thin purple is the positive, it doesnt say what to hooks up to.

it just says ignore

its 2 stinkin wires after you connect power and ground that the MSD goes to, or in between

Leading coil (twin tower) assembly removed from chassis
Ignitor is silver base on top.
Coil is black component on bottom.

Leading coil assembly with top cover removed.
YELLOW arrows point to "+" and "-" marks.
BLUE denote "+" and "-" posts.

Leading coil assembly still bolted to engine bay with top cover removed>
YELLOW arrow points to "+" mark on coil post.
Other "-" mark is hidden under terminal below.
CREAM wire is "+" coil input from ignitor.
BLACK wire is "-" coil input from ignitor.
These ring terminals will be removed and cut-off.

Please read all MSD 6A instructions!
MSD 6A install schematic:
Snip existing ring terminal from CREAM wire from ignitor and splice into MSD 6A thin RED wire.
Snip existing ring terminal from BLACK wire from ignitor and splice into MSD 6A thin WHITE wire.
Crimp new ring terminal on MSD 6A thin orange wire and secure on "+" post of coil.
Crimp new ring terminal on MSD 6A thin black wire and secure on "-" post of coil.
Crimp new ring terminal on MSD 6A thick (+) RED wire and secure on (+) POSITIVE battery terminal.
Crimp new ring terminal on MSD 6A thick (-) BLACK wire and secure on (-) NEGATIVE battery terminal.
MSD 6A unit requires secure mounting in a cool area away from engine heat!
