That center Y part is supposed to be bolted to the transmission. Are you not bolting that part to the transmission, and then offering up the rest of the mount to that part???? And then attaching the lower part to the Y part with the nuts for the two rubber mounts?????
So its the Y part with its two rubber mounts already attaached to the Y, and thats bolted to the transmission. Now you offer up the rest of the mount that attaches to the frame of the car.
I'm starting to reverse myself. I think maybe you do have the right mount but your not attaching it to the transmission with the two bolts.
A turbo transmission has a more ribbed case. But another way to tell if its turbo, is to look for TWO oil fill plugs on the left side. N/A has but one. You know, those square plugs.

I just looked at a turbo and n/a. That Y part in your pic seems to be not right. On the turbo and n/a I looked at, if you measure from the center of the Y, over about two inches on either side of centerline, there are two holes in the Y for attaching it to the transmission.
Your pictures Y part does not look like either my n/a or turboii Y mount.
Y mount being the part in the middle that should have a long threaded shaft that passes thru the lower, center part of the lower mount.

Take a look at this site http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm and go to RX 86-88 1of3, Chassis... and look at page 1-J14. I'd swear that the Y mount for a Automatic is what you show in your jpg. See how the manual Y mount has two bolts going thru it, numbers 9080-16-820 and how they go thru a flat section of the Y mount. If you look at the one for the automatic(frame in the right lower corner), how the 9080-16-820 go thru the EARS of the Y, not the flat section as on a manual.
Must have Acrobat Reader for this site http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm
My money says you have a automatic Y mount. The rest of the mount is the same.
Buy part # 39-410.....guess where.

but if you look at that pic you posted of the AT one, the "main mount" part is "flat" where as his is almost a 90 degree bolting into the frame on one side right?
if you look at my pics I have 2 bolts side by side too. his looks like mine, S5 turbo...
the 39-410 on j14 is non turbo...
edit: nevermind it's the same for turbo on the next page

OOOOps. I didn't look at Scott's pictures. That's different than the mount on my series four turboii. I have no two bolts at the top of each Y section. Its attached with two bolts in the flat part of the Y, and the two threaded holes in the flat bottom of the transmission. I don't have two holes on each side of the transmission like you do.
