IL Need Advice: Where Should I Buy a S5 Turbo Engine?

So, I have an FC3S Turbo with... a na s4 engine in it (bought it like this, what a clusterfuck!)

I need to get the drivetrain back to stock to some degree here, just for longevity's sake, and every rebuilt longblock I see for sale comes with used EVERYTHING besides the seals and rotors. My engine's throttle body and tps have been causing a fuckton of problems, and after buying several used ones from forum members, I kind of want to say "**** it" and throw a whole new longblock in, since I'd been planning to anyway.

I need advice. Where should I go? Where should I not go? I don't have much money to drop, so I definitely want a warranty with the engine, especially if it's used and not rebuilt. I also want to know that the used components on the longblock aren't going to crap out on me.

Point me in the right direction! I'm overwhelmed and need the car running nicely by March!

Thanks guys!

Check with Kevin at http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/. He may have some ideas on the best approach to solving your problem since he rebuilds these engines for reasonable prices.

I checked them out, but it looks like the only way I'd be able to get away with that would be if I bought an s5 turbo, shipped it to him, had him rebuild it, and then dropped it in. it doesn't look like he'll just sell an engine off the shelf. I sent him an email though, I couldn't figure it out for sure off of his website.

Nah, it's a s5 turbo chassis. The thing runs like **** with the na s4 engine! The thing was raced previously, so I kinda assume the owner before the guy who sold it to me (who knew nothing of anything) had a built-as-hell engine he sold without the car. or maybe he blew it up, who knows?

Any J-spec/used engine is a gamble. Most importers are not even offering warrantees on them anymore, the ones that do are like 15-30 days, which it will take you longer to install. From your description is sounds like your car is "pieced" together and even with a long block there are going to be other things that need replacing...

Most engine builders (us included) do not sell engines. Sounds like you have a big project ahead of you, good luck with it.

Buy a Jspec longblock from me and you will get a GOOD engine that will give you plenty of use.
100% complete longblock
Tested and guaranteed
100psi or better compression on both housing
