That's kinda what I was trying to say. Is it a frikkin' crime to want your car to look good?

'89+ tailights and front clip just freshin the 86-88 models a little, and there is nothing wrong with that. '

You'd do that because you like the way the 89+ taillights. Many people like the way the Turbo II hoodscoop looks (personally on most FCs I don't like the plain NA hoods). What the hell is wrong with that?

I seriously doubt any of the NA guys would put a TII hood on their NA FC b/c they wanted the car to look like a TII. the thought that they'd do it b/c they were jealous is very... stupid?

Bleh.

Yo,

Sorry fellas, but I still say it's Rice. You're pretending to be something you're not.

Have you noticed how everyone is calling a TII hood, well...a TII hood? They're not calling it a turbo hood, or a vented hood, it's a TII hood. It came on one model of FC, suprisingly called the Turbo II, or TII for short.

So you have a distinctive styling element in the offset hoodscoop, on the highest performance model of the FC. When you stick that styling element on a lower performance model, you get Rice. Yep, trying to pretend to be something you're not, especially when it comes to making your car look like another, more expensive, faster car.

Like the Supra big wing and big tip? Stick it on your Accord.

Like the Z3 fender gills? Stick it on your Civic.

Like the Altezza tailights? Stick it on your Prelude.

Like the TII hood? Stick it on your NA.

I'm putting a T2 hood on my NA. But I'll have a turbo engine underneath it, does that count? I'll probably take it off once i can afford a fmic, but until then, t2 hood for me!

I just figured I would get more oposing opinions from teenagers. NO OFFENSE or anything. Im just passed teens and used to be into the high school rivalry attitude... Now I worry about myself since im on my own. I am secure enough to know were I stand in this world not to care what others think.. Well most stuff anyway.

what the hell is wrong with putting a T2 hood on a NA FC??
i like the T2 hood and the scoop thing a lot,

and even if a NA FC with T2 hood lost to ricers,
what does that have to do with my FC??

even all ppl in the world think that T2 has a bad name, that's not gonna change the fact that we all FC owners love our cars

This forum is really getting to be bad...you can do anything to your car anymore without getting flamed...we are switching a damn hood...because it looks more aggressive...and its lighter....we are not slapping on tII stickers and fake blow off valves...my car is n/a i know this...and anyone who knows about rx-7 will know this...and i am pretty sure when i am done with my car i will give a tII some good comp...not saying i will beat it but i will definetly give it a good run for its money...

I call "Rice!" on an NA with a TII hood.

Thats good and funny, I have an N/A and after my mods I will welcome any TII to race. Rice is when even TIIs w/ exhaust and a few other mods can't keep up with an 18s Honda CRX DX...... At least we hold our own. and I think a LT1 qualifies(sp) as an N/A. We are not pretending we are TIIs we are just going for something DIFFERENT, there is still a sticker on the side that says Turbo II or GXL or whatever model the car is. How come all of a sudden a mod that survs a purpose is all of a sudden "rice" just because it did not come factory, WTF are N/A people suppose to do when the CF TII hoods come out, wait for a N/A hood, i for 1 am not. Why would i want to be a TII w/ 4 ports when I could get a custom 6-port turbo setup that would take care of a TII??

This forum is full or a bunch of Purests, ive said it before.
So you have a distinctive styling element in the offset hoodscoop, on the highest performance model of the FC. When you stick that styling element on a lower performance model, you get Rice. I like this totally wrong but funny anyway. #1 the offset scoop was not a styling thing, it looks stupid. #2 faster....... lol you call getting beat by a 18s CRX faster.... lol. #3 more expensive, my car went for 23,000+ (add AAS and a fe other options) in '87, not that expensive, lol. As for all the other stuff about the other cars, I might be getting Z3 fender grills molded into my FC (u might say rice but I think it will look cool).

This doesn't upset me, I'm sharing an observation. You can do whatever you want to your car, who am i to judge what you do? I'm just saying that I would never rice my car like that.

89+ tailights and front clip just freshin the 86-88 models a little, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The T2 was availible in series 4, so the argument about looks only stands if you are trying to make your car LOOK like a T2.
can you say HIPOCRIT(sp)??? you contradict yourself.... read your post first. I don't want my car to LOOK like a TII I just want the functionallity.

Something needs to be done about this "rice" stuff. This forum has become really stupid. Sorry guys but r x 7 f o r u m s . c o m is looking better now, no stupid "rice" stuff.

Eh, all personal choice I guess.

But there is one thing that does **** me off. I have the only S5 TII in my area (a few S4s, there might be S5's, but I haven't seen one in around a year). That one is mine.

Now there's a guy with a black S5 GXL. Primered TII hood. I don't mind it, the only problem I have is that there's a guy going around that people might mistake for me. Sooo, for me, it's a good thing. If his car isn't up to par, he might go losing races. What will happen when they see me and think it's him?

look at the sticker on the side?? and say 'oh look at that a Turbo II, i just raced a GXL that looked like that only it had a FLAT primer black hood' There is a difference between paint and primer, one is flat and the other has a glossy clearcoat.

I got the T2 hood because it was free, and I was hoping to make some sort of air intake out of it. My car was slow, but I only had the hood on for a few months before my rebuild.

Now my car is faster than stock T2's, so if me==rice then stock T2's are rice.

I can see that, but I am giving the guy some credit in saying that he'll have it painted soon. Only diff is going to be rims, and his says GXL, while mine has nothing (great thing about the 91).

But once he gets it painted, it's going to look 90% like mine, I just don't want to do the route of doing stuff to the exterior of my car so it will be different. I guess i'm just protective .

WTF are you talking about? All the posts i made are opposed to T2 hoods on NA's. There is little to noo functionality to a T2 hood, that's just an excuse to throw it on your NA (and don't try that weight argument, because the aluminum hood for the NA is lighter then the T2 one). I'm just saying I don't like it, I had an NA and I would never do that to my car. If you don't agree with me then fine, but why am i getting flamed because I don't like T2 hoods on NA's??? I guess I shouldn't bring up these things with other NA people T2 hood= Overcompensation

I say-

ANYONE that flames an NAFC driver for putting a TII hood on it claiming that he is "trying to make the car something it's not" is a hypocrite themselves. If you leave your car totally stock, then your opinion is valid, but anyone who mods their car to any extent can't say that a hood swap is "trying to be something it's not," because the car was made the way it was STOCK. It wasn't even intended to have ANY aftermarket parts. If I am wrong in using a TII hood, then you are wrong for putting a lightened flywheel, different wheels, etc. on your car, because the car wasn't created with intentions to swap out different parts! People will always have their opinions. I just don't let them bother me. According to society, money is the most important thing in the world. When you convince me to believe that, then I'll beleive your OPINION about the TII hood. . .

Peace, Derek
