NA speedo cable works with T2 Tranny

I read that I had to change the speedometer cable of my NA so that it works with the T2 tranny. Well I installed the tranny and used the same NA cable and it works the fit was tight I was under the dash but its totally possible to connect it.

Hey did you do a TII engine into N/A body swap?? Or are you just using a N/A speed-o cable for your TII??

the CABLE works.. all manual transmission CABLES are the same..... but the GEAR that drives the cable off the tranny is different...

TII's have a different gear ratio in the drive train than an N/A.. Thus.. they also have a different gear that drives the speedo cable...

Your speedo is now off!!!!

Can't you just switch the clusters around or are they the same? I can't picture it this morning.

The speedo works and marks proper MPH. I guess I should change it but it does work.
