N/A - Considering Single Exhaust
Hi..
Are the benefits of dual exhaust anything more then the look of haveing dual mufflers?
A muffler shop is trying to get me to go single as a way to increase performance (better muffler) and keep costs down by only buying one.
What do I lose going from dual to single muffler besides looks? I would save some wieght too.

Single -- Less weight, better top end, louder, less expensive. The Apex'i N1 is the way to go if you decide to go this route.
Dual -- More weight, probably better mid range, more expensive, looks better, not as loud.
A single is probably the way to go if you just want to slap a cat back on to the rest of the stock system, performance wise anyway.
I think the best power can be had out of an n/a with a true dual system. Meaning that the exhaust is never collected into one pipe, two pipes coming out of the engine to two mufflers.

Yep, Mykl is exactly right.
Single is the loudest, but you loose low end and make it up at top end.
The most torque and all around power comes from a dual front to rear on a NA.
