hmm.... if you turn at a stop and the car shuts off i would think its something as easy as being low on fuel. if the PS belt was too tight it would snap after a while.

i'd have commented on you post but theres enough ppl here to do that already

hm... i dont know what the name of it is, but there is a celanoid or a valve that bumps up the idle or rpms so that this doesnt happen.

I remember reading at one time something about the fuel getting cut off when you make the turn. I saw it in the FAQ if you want to check that out?

Try turning the wheel while the car is stationary. If it stalls, you may have a bad BAC (bypass air control solenoid valve) or BAC system problem. It could also be (1) power steering switch, (2) wiring, or very unlikely (3) ECU.

The ECU senses the P/S switch which basically says "hey this guy's making me work harder" and the BAC valve opens up an air passage and bumps up the idle.

thats the problem i have in my s4, when i turn my wheel one way, all the way, my idel drops super low and sometimes the car will just die. so bypass air control solenoid valve is most likly the problem?

Could be...BTW *never* hold the steering wheel all the way against the stops. It's bad for the power steering system. Back off a couple of inches when maneuvering i.e. parking (you'll hear a 'noise' go away).

I realize that. This was an off-topic, but well intended advice. My previous post (#5) covered the topic. Do you have any helpful advice for the original poster?

i was trolling the forum a while back and I think I heard this type of a problem before. I beleive it was caused because a wire harness following the steering column had gotten worn and on a turn would ground itself

yeah check the solenoid and the P/S switch that is under the PS pump. the switch might just be disconnected or needs replacing. then if it still cuts off check the solenoid valve
