this is my oil pressure on my s5 NA. this was at about 3400 rpm on the freeway.
at idle it should be at 30psi which it is, and at 3000 rpm and higher its suppose to be at 60psi. it worked fine on previous motor. how low can the oil pressure be before it starts messing things up? the motor has been running like this for about 2,000 miles and no problems thus far.
should i worry? or is it just being a stoopid gauge?

I don't see anything wrong with that oil pressure. I don't recall the facotory spec (check the factory service manual as found in the FAQ) but that looks to be within the acceptable range.
That said, verify your pressure with a proper aftermarket gauge before you rely on the factory gauge. The senders have been known to give false readings...

My Oil Pressure gauge is practically dead... can anyone help me figure out how to make the needle move? It wont sense the amount of pressure... is it a sensor?? is it the gauge itself? I really dont know... thanks.

yea i thought about the oil line going inside the car. i dont want that either, but mechanical has to be more accurate, electrical might fail on me again.
and electrical is so expensive
i want an autometer gauge

i want an autometer gauge
I paid 50 bucks for my electrical gauge, its an autometer(oops autotechnic) S7 series got it from here http://www.hyperformanceauto.com/AC-...e-P4240C0.aspx
Stock specs should be 30 at idle, 80 at speed. If your pressure ever gets below 30 at 3krpm 'Immediately consult your mazda dealer for assistance'.
Mine sits around 30lbs at idle, maybe just a taaaad under it or over. And when cruising it's around 90lbs. Problem is, my gauge recently started acting up, so it fluctuates like a crazy bastard. I'll be cruising at 80mph with 0lbs, then it'll shoot to 20, down to like 1 (hehe) and all the way to 110, down to 0...it's kinda funny, but scary. I think the gauge and/or the sending unit finally decided to take a crap.

^ that sounds like ur little resistor box might be unplugged or the wire is about to break.
check the little back box with a single wire, it should be bolted to your tranny with the clutch slave cylinder.
it is a little black box with one wire that plugs into the harness that goes to the battery and starter.
you need this plugged in otherwise your gauge will burn out and not work at all.
