The GTUs does not have the TII tranny.
I parted out a '90 GTUs. The tranny swapped into my '90 convertible without any need for a different clutch, driveshaft, differential flange, etc.
The GTUs was the "stripper" version of the GTU. No frills with the suspension and brakes of the Turbo II.

Ok... for the record... NO NA CAR CAME WITH A TII TRANNY. PERIOD.
The GTU in 1988, and the later GTUs, were called "the turbo without the turbo" for the bigger brakes, better suspension, and zippy acceleration due to light weight and the lower gears on the GTUs. NO turbo parts are on those cars, unless you count the "big" brakes as turbo parts.
