at a guess i'd say it'd be slightly less than a T2, i know my T2's normal op temp is 87-88 degrees celcius

try 100 percent duty cycle as opposed to 50 percent on a 4 stroke piston engine.

Mine seems to stay between 180 & 195 degrees F.Hottest I've ever seen it was between 205&210 but this was after/during some hard driving up a moutian road in the summer. So to answer your question 180 to 190.Thermostat opens at 180 so it should stay close to that temp.I'm not sure what you mean by so hot.My wife's Camaro with a tuned port 350 usually runs between200 to 220 which I was told is normal for a 350.Our cars actually run alittle lower coolant temps but a piston engine can withstand a hotter temp than we can.Anything above 230 degrees F and your water o-rings will probably be damaged.

rotarys will get way hoter because they are less effecient then a piston engine (hence crappy gas mileage) but they are bought down to normal engine temps (180-200) since it it both water and oil cooled. each doing about 50%. where as a piston engine is only water cooled. that is way an rotary will warm up around 2x as fast as a piston car when you start it up cold. rotarys also have much higher exhaust temps. around 300F hotter. (1600 vs 1300)
