my first mod... peep my skillzzz

my FC is just a little better than it was yesterday; the front side markers are now blinkers, too.

I followed these fool-proof instructions...
http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...rkerflash.html

tools used: test light, wire strippers, pliers.
parts used: wire, various butt connectors.

lol. it's ok. I actually sat here tonite and thought about it long and hard... and I don't know if it really helps other drivers at all. one possibility: traffic on the highway which is beside me and just a little behind (but not far enough back to see the rears). still, I'm not the kind of guy who would plow into someone anyway.

but it's an improvement. I figure it'll raise the resale value a g or so.

Id say more like $800, $900 if you are lucky.

Kudos for doing this and taking the time to do a write-up with provided pics for the text-only challenged.

oh god, I didn't do that writeup. it is good though isn't it? I love those kinds of schematics; two objects, a couple of leads... no problem

it was really easy on the FC too, with the hood raised and the headlights up. the only snag was the passenger side, as there was not a lot of slack at all going to the side marker. I finally unbolted the air filter box and lifted it out of the way so I could attack the side marker wiring from above. still a piece of cake, even for me (read: dumb with cars).

you know, its not every day you read a new thread. Usually its the same old "did I blow an apex seal" or "my coolant temp is climbing, what should I do?" and the occasional "what color should I paint my car?" poll. Its refreshing to see new information. I commend your ingenuity and I plan on doing this mod to my car.

Yeah you punks, kudos to this guy for providing us with something we don't see every day. Marker light blinkers are spec'd on european cars for safety . . so you can see if someone is about to cut you off when you are in their blind spot along side them.

Bwahahaha. FCs rule. It's nice to see a someone making a real improvement to their car on this forum for once!!

Nice update of adding a modern feature to an 80s-early 90s car! Maybe this feature will find its way into mine as well...

Nicely done on the mod, especially considering it's your first. Nice write up also.

Actually the US seems to be about the only market that doesn't fit these to all cars. I don't know how you guys survive without them...

It would be most helpful for getting onto the highway, that way cars on the highway know you want to get over. Nice idea, good thread.

yeah I know. as I see it, the road is just another place (possibly the BEST place, what with the risk to life and limb) to excercise the golden rule.

I really don't wanna get started on bad and rude drivers, but I will say that driving etiquette is something parents should teach their children. my dad is the best driver I know.

I can't stand people that dont use thier blinkers, I just wanna give them a bumper sticker that says "I can't push up/down a little **** to be curdious to other drivers cuz I am one lazy piece of trash and shouldn't be allowed to own a car" but I doubt that would fit on the bumper

that's a great mod. will be doing it to mine soon. I can't stand people that don't use their blinkers either. If I were a cop, I'd get kicked off the force for citing nothing but failure to signal intent. And for making people respect mah authoritah.
