Unhappy my exhaust housing still glows

hmmm, my exhaust housing on my turbo still glows after a few minutes of idling. people have said that this could be a timing problem. which way is advance and which way is retard? also, could this problem be caused by a blocked coolant or oil passage? maybe it's not flowing in the right way?? iono, i'm confused. help me please.

Search about adjusting/resetting etc. your timing. There are two marks on your eccentric shaft pulley, one is red, one is yellow. you align the mark with the needle indicator on the block, then gank the CAS.

Then align the marks on the CAS shaft, and the CAS gear, remove the black cap, and look at it, remember where the inner pieces (magnets) are at, and re-insert the CAS into the motor trying to keep everything aligned. Then re-assemble.

I don't recall off the top of my head if the red or yellow mark on the eccentric shaft pulley comes first. This may or may not be your problem, but just a possability.

i'm running an s4 to s5 13bt swap with the s5 upper and lower intake manifolds, with the s5 turbo set up. I have a 2.5 inch downpipe, making my boost around 8.5, but it spiked to about 10. I have one of those FCD's too. um... If i were running too lean, how would I fix that?

You remove the black cap the make sure when you jam the CAS back into the motor that you don't jostle it all around and move the gear and mis-align the marks. Read the FSM.
