My 1000th Post!
Yo,
It's my 1000th post! Woo! It only took me 19 months to get here. (Take note postwhores!).
My favorite top five posts:

I drive a 1989 GTUs. I put 140 horsepower to the rear wheels. I pull 16 flat in the 1/4 mile. I love my RX-7.
But...but...140RWHP is so low...and 16 in the 1/4 is so /slow/! Yep. You know what? I love my RX-7.
Why? Because I have take great pleasure in the twisties. I love pushing the car to 9/10ths in the corners. My RX-7 will do that, and do it all day long with nary a hiccup. Read the first 3 posts above and tell me how more horsepower would have made those experiences better. Maybe I could have gotten more straightaway speed...but I sure as heck couldn't have carried more speed in the corners.
So speed isn't everything, at least it isn't everything to /me/. I saw a supercharged Toyota 4Runner pull a 12.8 in the 1/4, and a heavily modified FD pull a 13.5. Does that make the 4Runner a better vehicle than the FD? Because it's faster in the 1/4 mile? I don't think so.
So I guess that's my message for my 1000th post, speed isn't everything. Enjoy your RX-7 in the way you like to most. Don't listen to what anyone else says about how "slow" your car is. You know it's fast where it counts most: on the twisty mountain road. Where Mazda designed it to be. I love my RX-7.

Congrats on your 1000th post ...
I have a little beef with the content of your post ... What do you consider a heavily modified FD?? 13.5 second 1/4 mile is what they can do stock ... If the FD was indeed heavily modified ... then the driver obviously cannot drive. That's a pretty quick 4runner though!
You're are right about power though ... it's all about the twisties! However, it's nice to have more power to shorten the time between the twisties. Glad you're enjoying your FC ... it's a beautiful car!
Be safe and keep the rubber side down.

Yo,
Thanks for all the kind words!
Bigtwan25 - Check your PMs.
Van Sema - 2800lb FD, 343RWHP, street tires = 13.5. Dude had no traction, but big trap speeds. I'm sure with slicks he'd do much better. Thanks and yeah, I try to be safe as I can. Well, for a maniac driver that is. *grin*
Musik4u - Bro, my hat is pizimpin'!! I can't believe you don't like the Golf Shark look. *snicker* It was more a reaction to last years Sevenstock, it was hella more hotter. One burned, twice learned...
Capn'Wankel - Thanks man! I'm not a writer, but I do have a BA in English. I like to write and share stories with y'all.
