To MSD or not?

I've read that using a MSD or Crane ignition box is beneficial to the fc's. Anyone gain better performance from one of these? Are they worth it? I have a TII. Thoughts anyone...

FB is a 1st gen RX-7... do you mean a FC???

And they won't really make any more HP, they just typically help mis-firing at idle and at 6K and above RPMs.

sorry to thread jack but how much would an msd set-up run for our cars. I think my car (91 TII) would benifit from one of these. I have alot of misfiring at idle.

Take a look at the Jacobs FC1000 ignition also. Thats what I'm running right now and I love it! I just have one going to the leading coils.

i think all the hi-6 msd 6al mallory 6al are all pretty close to performance. pick the color/brand you like. although i do favor the others over the MSD because it is analog.

Except that the MSD is analog and the others are digital

I actually just bought a hi-6 after my fc1000 died (ebay = gambling, the hi-6 is off ebay too btw ) because I could actually feel the difference at very high rpm between stock and the old cdi, so much so that it toke priority.
