I've seen MSD 6A boxes provide good results ona few ZX Turbo's before but I haven't driven a rotary that had one installed. From what I've read one box can be installed for what I assume is leading but some people do use them for trailing too. Not sure of the benefits of two versus one, especially in an NA vs. a Turbo model. Has anyone used HKS's twin power rotary box before? I just put one in my GVR4 a couple of weeks ago and it cleaned the idle up nicely and reversed the effects of the VPC and 550cc injectors. The mazda ignition is supposed to be really powerful though and very capable for a lot more power, correct?
i emailed msdtech and they told me i'd need 3 of their ignition boxes or one box and something else added to it to work properly for a rotary. i didn't ask for more info on it, but if you email them and ask for the schematics of the setup they will fax you the diagram.

One box can be used though, people have done it with good results. However, at the price of 3 MSD's to work "properly" the HKS unit seems a lot more cost worthy. What about that jacobs rotary pak, anyone using it??

you need 3 6a or 6al boxes one for leading and one for each trailing. if you get the msd DIS box it will do all for just one box.

Nope.... some guy learned the hard way, and was stuck with the DIS, since most places wont return electrical items!! An expensive mistake!!
They won't work!!
As for MSD results... I have a noticably smoother midrange, idle is the same... if not worse?!!
Power? Same... maybe a tad better in the midrange, but definately smoother.
I noticed more of a difference in how well the car ran by changing to MSD 8.5mm wires, than I did with the MSD. You should usually change both at the same time.
