motor problems, mount, front cover

Ok, I've got a few problems. I took apart the one motor mount today because I couldn't get it to line up, and I realized that that's because it's broken. There's 3 pieces now, instead of just 2. (well, maybe there's 3 stock, but there's a different 3 now. Bottom puck, rubber thingy, and top thingy (this is on the passanger side. The rubber has seperated from the top. If I clean this up and coat it with epoxy, do you think it'll hold together (at least for a bit?)

Also:
The front cover, the eccentric shaft nut on the front WILL NOT come off. Period. It's NOT coming off. I used a 2 foot breaker bar and attached a 6 foot pole to that and only succeeded in breaking my breaker bar. Yeah.

Anyways, if I don't put the s4 front cover on the s5, what will I lose? Is it 100% mandatory? Will I just lose my OMP or something? I have NO problems running premix.

Thanks everyone!

1/2"

That'll be the 3rd thing I've broken this week... Good thing the stuff has a lifetime warranty.

Ok.

hmm

The part that connects to the motor with 3 bolts then connects to a metal puck thingy. There's a little rubber thing inbetween the two, that bolts to both the mount and the car. At least, I think that's how it works. It's broken, the mount is now seperate from the other bolt. If I epoxy it, will it hold together? It's on the passanger side.

Two options on the front eshaft nut.

1. A good impact wrench -- the steady blows usually gets it off.

2. Take yet one more breaker bar and hit the breaker bar with a large pipe or a sledge hammer, like the impact wrench it's the jarring that gets it.

I just realized your engine is probably still in the car so ignore my suggestions you probably won't have enough room. :-(

I've tried hitting the breaker bar with a hammer, the problem is, the the slop in the drivetrain (since I'm just using 5th gear and the ebrake to lock the fly wheel) and it didn't work. I also tried doing that with the engine outside of the car, I broke my 1/2-3/8" adapter doing that And also took a good chunk of paint off my front fender

I'm really considering leaving the s5 front cover on for now, I just need to get this car running! What all will I lose/what won't work with the s5 front cover and my s4 ecu

if the engine is still in the car, what I have done on every single one is use a breaker bar and the correct socket, lay the end of the breaker bar against the drivers frame (careful to avoid the lines running there) and crank it just for a second, once or twice.

never had one not come loose.

And I normally use my Snap On 3/8" breaker bar with a hunk of pipe on the end. What brand are you using that you keep snapping them? If you are breaking tools you may be just using too cheap of manufacture of tools.

no, I'm using mastercraft, the good ****

I REALLY thought about doing it that way, but how will I get the nut off the motor that's now out of the car? (I've allready done the swap, the s5 motor is in the car now)
I've only broken 2 things, an impact adapter thingy and the one older breaker bar

Thanks, btw!

Just be careful not to break any tools with mechanical internals (torque wrenchs, rachets blah blah) those dont have life time warrenties.
If you are breaking tools you may be just using too cheap of manufacture of tools.
Blah, I break lots of craftsman and mastercraft tools
