Why would you want to cover up such beauty?

I think someone (Hypertek?) posted about something like this before. Personally, I don't think it's a very good idea. Beyond aesthetic considerations, it can't be good to hold in heat like that.

No offense, but I think it's this idea that results in a lot of odd looking old/new mismatched cars. The FC is not a new car and trying to make it look like a new car is a bad idea.

Oh, and here's that thread... not really the same thing. May be of some help though.

The RX-8 uses the cover for mutiple reasons.

#1 for noise. The cover reduces engine noise. On the FC with it's wide engine compartment, it would be very tough to reduce the engine noise.
#2 for heat insulation. The cover reduces the amount of insulation needed on the hood. The FC comes with a great insulator so there is no need for that.
#3 for air routing. On the RX-8 the cover helps route the air across the motor. Since you are not an aerodynamisist i doubt you could build a cover that does that for the FC
#4 for showing a clean face. Here would be the only reason for a FC... but then you have the height issues, as the Renisis sits considerably lower under the hood than the 13B and 13BT/C does in the FC and you would be hard pressed to get one in there that fits between the engine and hood. In fact even the knightsports one, has height issues and leaves many area's open because of this.

So in other words, the reasons to have one mostly don't work on the FC, and because of that, no one has ever made one, and I doubt anyone ever will (unless it is a 1 off that someone is convinced they must have and they make it themselves).
