Installing new clutch on 86gxl and I cant find any Markings on the flywheel. Any tips on what to look for or will it only go on one way.

Its keyed.

However, there are two pressure plate bolts that are longer than the other 4.

You can bolt on the pressure plate backwards... but you'll know when you go to drive the car.

Just follow the directions, it's not hard at all. Pretty hard to mess up, actually.

Question

hey is there a certian way the clutch goes on? i am doing a 5 speed swap and it didn't cross my mind that it might have to go on a certian way (if there is a certian way what whould happen if u put it the wrong way?)

The clutch disk has one side that must face the flywheel. It should be labelled.

If not, you'll figure it out. I can't remember off hand, but you'll see how it doesn't sit right on the flywheel one way.

The hub will hit the flywheel and the disc won't sit right if its backward.

And I can totally see some idiot bolting the pressure plate on backwards. Although I don't think the 4 short bolts would thread.

Yep.

Ted once bolted the disc on backwards... I'm sure he'll chime in.

I've done it more than once due to inattention, Bud Light, or some combination of both.
