Question MAP sensor question

couldnt find anything through searching. in my 87 n/a im getting codes from the ecu saying my boost sensors bad, but only when im above 6k rpm. i've replaced it with several others (all N327), apart from getting a brand new one, all seem to be bad above 6k.

my question is; what do they do and should i just look into getting a brand new one for around $120 seeing how every used one i find seems to be bad.

Do you mean a one way thing, cause no, there's nothin on the line. Straight from manifold to sensor.

There's a vacuum 'pill' in the line, with a .5mm orifice. It's available from Mazdatrix (link, it's right above the ACV block off plates on that page). I don't know if it's the cause of your problems or not, but it couldn't hurt to try it out. It's supposed to be about 1" from the end of the vacuum line on the manifold side.

Hard to say what is causing the code. Usually it takes the compete removal of the elect plug off the sensor to cause a code to be displayed. Got me why. Maybe a pushed back socket in the elect plug to the sensor not making good contact?

I just used a one from oriley or auto zone (don't remember exactly). It doesn't fit inside the line but it works. I replaced the vacuum line cut it and put the restrictor in between both sides.

Its probably the missing restrictor, I had the same issue. Its really hard to find, it should be in your vacuum line to the engine from the MAP. It is literally inside the hose, very tiny.

You can get a restrictor from the parts store in the vacuum "t's" section.
