Question making ghetto gasket ASAP. RTV or cork?

ok, long story short, i need my car running by tomoro night and there isnt a upper intake gasket within at least 100 miles of me (every last mazda dealer within that radius was out of stock). that gasket is tore to shreds and i need to get something in there so the car will run, preferably well.

so, should i just use some rtv, or cut a gasket out of some 1/8" thick cork pad i got at ace hardware?

im in the middle of porting my intake manifolds anyway so i dont even know if the stock gasket would have fit well after i would have shaved it down to fit the slightly enlarged ports.

please give me some sound addvice here.

also if you live within 40 or so miles of titusville FL and have an upper intake gasket for an s5 na, let me know asap.

thanks.

yes.. just buy gasket material and cut.. i put it over the part im making it with and lightly tap with a hammer on the edges so the gasket gets an outline or breaks where i need it to.. and then cut.. works good.

do that --^ Or RTV, either works great. Use the black stuff if you do, let it sit about an hr, and drive like normal. No harm done.

cardboard is your friend. cut the gasket out of like a soda box and use rtv over that. i do this on stuff that don't buy gaskets on. i have never used it on a UIM though. i have on acv, bac and stuff like that.

good luck andrew. i hope the porting helps.
