Well i just picked up my 87 turbo II thi saturday and i was messing around with the car today and it seem to have almost like a parking lock or somehting with the shifter. I can put it in first and pull it closer to the drivers seat to lock it in place. Is this normal or something special or what.

I looked through the FAQ and tried a search with no results.

 

umm... thats from badly worn shifter bushings.

 

My car does that a bit, it's fine as long as you don't slam it into gear. I haven't had any problems with it since the second time I drove my car.
