Logicon Help
Everything on my logcon works perfect except the Blower speed. It is either off or on.I think I seen someone say they fixed it by soldering in a new resistor( i think) but either way I would like to know how to fix it.If I cannot I dont care because im not buying a new one to fix such a simple problem.

Mine is the same way. I went to the JY to snag one and there a couple of clips in the back, but there is a group of wires with no clip. WTH??? How do we replace the unit? It would take quite a bit of time to cut and splice all of those wires. Anybody have any ideas?

Well the 2 sliders are the few mechanical parts. If those are shot, well, that sucks. Typical logicon failures involve hairline cracks in solder joints, so check all of those on the circuit board. That may be the problem. If not, spray some electrical contact cleaner into the slider assembly while it's apart, you may get lucky.
The logicon has one connector, almost behind the instrument cluster, tough to get at. Once you get that apart, take the 4 screws out and you should be able to slide the whole thing out.

You have to take off the vent on top of the dashboard to get at the other end of the wires - its a nice plug.
Resolder everything. My mix was not working and I found a fried resister and tons of loose components

One day about 2 months ago I went to turn on the fan and it did not respond. Slid it back and forth a few times and it came on. That hasn't happened again, altho I am waiting for when it does. In the meantime, I have to wiggle the slider alittle at the end of the travel spot at the high position to get the 'extreme' high fan. Otherwise it is somewhat lower. Haven't done anything to it yet but found this link that could help:

From that tutorial I guess i need a new lil blakc box thing. One thing is that the logicon form an RX7 and a 626 are the same so I have one of those i Just need to take it apart.Mine works fine liek it shuts off when it is off but when you turn it on it will only blow at highspeed and not lower speeds. That si why I am not really worried about it

As you must know, the RX-7 is prone to electrical problems. I have fixed most of the common ones which have occurred on mine by resoldering. I would think this repair to the logicon would yield the positive results we are looking for. That's heat/air when you want it!

I vote with Thaniel. I did all the usual resoldering etc. Even jumpered a light green wire with a black stripe to ground for a couple of years to get the fan to go full blast. Found out the fix was to swap the fan blower housing assy with a known good one. Not the blower fan, but the housing. You'll find electronic components attached to it out of normal view. Again, not the Logicon, not the blower motor, but the housing for the fan ans its associated electronics. Thaniel's got the fix right, I think.
