Little Oil Leak... Anything To Worry About?

Before i bought my RX-7 I took it to Mazda for an inspection...
On this sheet of paper the guy wrote "little leak home main seal" i believe.. Hard to understand his hand writing.

Anyways is this anything to worry about? I've had the car sitting for a few weeks in my garage and i don't really see any oil on the ground.. Just curious if this could leak to anything more drastic..

Thanks

i believe you are supposed to lose a quart per 1500 miles? or so...if you are losing anymore than that without seeing any visibile leaks, than it is internal, meaning rebuild...when my internal oil seal(s) went bad, i was having to add a quart every few days...

If you haven't done so, jack her up and take a good look under there for oil leaks and/or areas with tell-tale oil film... may give a further inspection clue.

Well like i said the car has been sitting in the garage for a good month. I don't see any oil on the ground and i just checked the dip stick last week and it was still all good.

AE_Racer, you are really scaring me dude...
I've only drivin my car for probably 15min last friday when i checked the dipstick. I don't have a lift or anything so i can't really get under the car.

Can't you guys tell me what he means by "little leak home main seal"?

If not I guess i will just have to wait and see...

All that you really have to worry about if it is leaking is making sure it doesnt get to low. My camry leaks oil like mad crazy due to a oil seal leak... I havent replaced it in like a year and everytime I do a oil change I get a quart from the 4 quarts I pour in. Just make sure it doesnt get to low and replace the oil seals inside the engine which is probably what the guy was talking about. Its not that much for o-rings its just a bitch to take apart the engine and place them in there.

No idea what that would mean.. there is no such thing as a home seal...
It probably says something else.

Well if you aren't loosing any oil while its sitting there, then u are prolly OK. Now if u loose more than a quart every ~1500 miles then u might have something to worry about. I've never heard of a home seal either. Could u scan/take a pic of his comment so we could guess at what it says?

Looks to me like it probably says "little leak FROM main seal" in cursive handwriting... maybe he accidently stuck an E on the end of it... mechanics aren't english majors.

Well, if it's just a tiny leak, not even enough to drip on the ground, it's probably just a little bit wet and oily underneath either-
A- the front main pulley
B- The back of the engine, where the tranny meets the engine.... on the bottom- there is a rubber plug, you can pop it off and check.
I wouldn't really worry about it much if it isn't even enough to hit the ground. It's too much work to change unless it's puking out oil.
