Leaking Water...where does this hose go?

Look at this pic, see the raditor and the cap at the top. See how a tube runs off to the right and goes along the raditor then down. My car doesnt have a tube and I leak water all the time. Where does this tube run too? thanks...I hate keeping filling in water

I must have read that about 6 times, and I STILL don't understand what in the bloody hell your asking! confusing the hell outta us.

FIRST OFF, the goddamn radiator cap is at the BOTTOM of the picture. If your refering to the one near the top, the one on the coolant elbow, then there is NO VISIBLE tube going off to the right of that... So if your refering to the one on the BOTTOM of the pic, there is a tube that runs to the LEFT. If this is the tube that is in question, it goes to the radiator overflow tank!

jesus, sorry, I sound pissed cause I am. If your going to ask a question make it clear and think it through! lmao

allrighty, Ill try this again, but with MY engine bay. Look at the RADIATOR. The spout there is LEAKING. I see on the pic of the engine bay above, a tube runs off it. Where is it suppose to go? That help? Im still assuming the overflow, so that would be that white tank in my pic? If so, Why is the OTHER part of the cooling system going to it.

Do you have an overflow tank?

The tube in question goes from your Rad Cap to the overflow. If you don't have an overflow I suggest you get one...NOW....

Alright, cool. hahahhaha, i get it now. I still have the same answer, it goes to the overflow tank. Mine is in the front, just in front of the radiator, but I think thats becuase its a GX canadian model. Yours looks like the one on the right of the engine bay there.

Use a new hose, any vac leaks and it won't work properly, and you'll just lose coolant. When the system needs coolant, it sucks it out of the overflow tank, when it gets hot and starts to expand, it puts it back into the tank. The sign of your coolant leaking out of the hole is good, it means that your rad cap is the correct one and that its functioning correctly.

is that what thats for? I have one and the overflow infront of the rad. The one by the strut tower is empty and I was going to take it of when I thought about it. But I could relocate to that one and possible make for an easier fmic install.

First off, I need you to clarify something b/c I can't quite tell by looking at your pic. Is that a nipple I see just underneath the radiator cap on the top of the radiator?

I'm one of the people who understood you the first time.

Yes, that's the overflow bottle.

If so, Why is the OTHER part of the cooling system going to it.
Because it is supposed to. It may be routed slightly differently than what you'd expect, but it is in fact correct. The overflow line in my own FC also comes from the the filler neck beside the alternator.

Have a look at this pic. See the overflow bottle down in front?

That's where some of us are used to seeeing the overflow bottle.
On your 7, you already have the overflow bottle set up properly. It goes from the coolant filler neck, across the top of the fan to the overflow bottle by the battery. This is A-OK and you don't need to touch it.

So, is that a nipple at the rad cap?

I'd say your 7 has a replacement radiator with the wrong type of radiator. You either need to somehow plug that whole (I'd try a lot of epoxy) or possibly run a T connection back to the over flow tank. Of course, I don't know if have 2 over flow points is a good idea.

Not the wrong type. It's a 7 rad. He's just got a mix-n-match thing happening there. Which wouldn't matter except for the leak.

Or take it to a rad shop and see if they can replace it outright instead of wondering if his patch is going to one day disintegrate...

It isn't a bad thing. It's a non-issue, in fact. The only problem is that he has a leak from the unused connection (if that is in fact a connection point - too blurry to see.)

My RX-7 has an overflow at both coolant caps. I just tee them together to the bottle, and it works fine. You can find a tee the right size at any crappy chain auto parts emporium.
