Leaking Coolant from the pump...

Help guys. i'm leaking coolant. I think its my pump, infact i'm almost positive. right under the water pump pullie i can see coolant dripping down past the OMP. now here is my question. is the pump bad or is it the gasket. i can't really see exactly where it's leakin from but i'm pretty sure its somewhere around the pullie. Any help would be great also where can i get a cheap water pump. thanks.

probably just the gasket but most people just replace the pump if they go through the trouble of pulling it to replace the gasket. if the pump is relatively new then id just get a new gasket. just pull it, clean it up real good (which is key), and install with new gasket and gasket sealer...

If it is leaking directly below the pump, that is an almost sure sign that the waterpump is failing. There is a weephole there that will start to drip coolant as the pump is failing. It is a clue to get it replaced as soon as you can.

What he said. If it's coming out the weep hole you need a new pump. There are seals inside the pump that will fail eventually. The weep hole is there to tell you when it's time for a new one.

weep hole, time to get a new pump, same thing happened to me about a month ago.

They run about $70 reman and $100 new. Takes about an hour to install if you're inept, about 30 minutes if you know the engine bay and have a clutch fan, 20 minutes if you know the engine bay and have an efan, and abotu 10 minutes if you've done it before.

I'm sure you can find used ones on the forum super cheap. i was going to get one from the forum, but just opted for a reman. Post that you need one in the fs section, someone will have one.
