Angry large amounts of smoke

im having a problem with my S5 TII motor i have alot of mods done and its making 400whp its a brand new motor with only about 8k on it. not a rebuild its all brand new. so im hoping its not the oil control rings. im thinking its either that or the turbo seals. turbo is a HKS spec T04R with unknown mileage. at first the car would only smoke at mid warm up then it would go away but now it smokes bad after a hard pull or when i come to a stop and let it idle. so im wondering how i can determine if its the turbo or the motor?

What color is the smoke? If it's a grayish silver color it's coolant if it's a blueish color it's oil ring's..

There must be a way. One would be to switch turbos or pull the one off and run NA for a brief while to see if it still smokes. Another is to search and read what others have experienced in each case (control rings vs turbo seals).

Take off the turbo. If the manifold is oily, its coming from the engine. If its oily fro mthe turbine back - its the turbo.

Any oil on the comp. wheel of the turbo?

i forgot to add that i dont have a resrictor on the oil feed line. its just a AN line. however it didnt use to smoke like this. could it be just over time the high oil pressure wore the seals out and they just now started to leak causing the smoke?

I'm unsure whether or not the HKS center section needs a restrictor, but inquire with them before continuing because that is a real possibility.

More then likely its fine though as the oil pressure on the stock engine isn't too wild.
