doesn't yours have a bung for that sensor?

I just threaded mine into the koyo - the hole in the koyo has no coolant going over it though, just a blind hole

I pitched mine in the trash. If I remember right, that is the sensor that triggers the 3k startup thingy.

Both my Koyo have the bung for the sensor. If yours does not, I'd suggest jumpering both wires together.

It is the "water temp switch' connector. I remember some thread where this was the discussion, just can not remember what thread.

That pic is of the stock rad.

There is a place under the Koyo that has a plug in it. Maybe I can just place it there if it is threaded the same.

Ok, in the FSM, it says " Detects Radiator Coolant Temp and sends signal to control unit."

Still a bit confused on why that one, and single wire one on the top of the rad.

the one on the top of the radiator, the single wire, is the coolant level sensor

the dual pass koyo doesn't have a bung for it, the sensor isn't needed for modified cars anyways.

The water temp switch on a S4 controls the 3000rpm on start up from cold and effects the operation of the Relief Solenoid also IF I remember right. The switch MAKES a circuit to ground when over approx 65 degrees (memory) Below that figure the switch is open, telling the ECU that the water temp is below 65 degrees (memory on the number).
