a for effort

i would call it over kill, but thats just me ...

clean install and im sure you have your reasons for wanting it that secure

it would be cool to have a small remote with ONE button on it though that you could keep with you ... one touch and it bypasses ALL that stuff, and just pops your doors and starts the car ..

hell you could keep the one touch button thing in your house pointed out a window or something .. lol

Nice, if you want to go a step further, you could mount a flame thrower under the drivers door rocker panel and wire it to the alarm....good luck using the clutch with toasted ankles

He's trying to keep his car intact, not burn it to the ground.

don't shave the door handles yet. keep them and rig up an electric fence transformer box to the handle. that way when someone tries to get in and lifts the handle, ZAP! nothing better than 20,000 volts hittin' ya, trust me I know.

yah, it does hurt for awhile... I accidently grabbed the fence once, I was told it was turned off. I was pushed into the fence by a bunch of horses and the last time I did it cause it was my only way out of the way of a 1500lb bull I pissed off.

lol... I believe the point is, one could still steal his car, but with how hard he has made it would they really be looking to worry about it? they could still probably multiple other cars with less hassle and leave his alone. I was always told if someone wanted something bad enough they would get it, an alarm is just a way of making it harder so they dont want to bother.

Nice setup, that is cool but it would annoy me.

here is what would really happen if someone tried to steal the car.
The crook gets in the car, trys to start it by rewiring some things, doesn't notice keypad. Can't figure it out and looks for batt kill switch. After not finding one he brakes every possible thing he can swing at and runs for it.

Yes I could see that happening if there were not active alarms, all alarm wiring is concealed in places that cant be found in just a few seconds so still not real worried

"repo man" was used as a way of saying tow truck boost. I just dont want anyone thinking that I have outstanding debt on the car.

On another note how much fun is that? Always wanted to try it. Tell me you arent working in Gary.

After reading a lot of replies like yours (classic) that were serious, my sense of humor tends to fade until I get depressed by seeing the same 7 (humor) questions asked over and over and switch to the Lounge.

This is all fine an dandy, but it sounds more like to show off your custom and install skills...

Sure, your'e going to deter the casual thief, but a cheap alarm already does that.

The pro thief knows the car inside and out, and key disable won't deter him.
Now, the Haltech is going to confuse a lot of them, but...
The tow truck still works.

I know thieves who get so mad they can't steal the car that they end up destroying everything inside and maybe even burn the car.
Conclusion?
You still end up with a useless hunk of metal, and all that time and effort wasted.

I still like the James Bond idea of blowing the car up if someone tries to steal it.
Too bad lawyers are so greedy!

No, I don't know them personally.
I've seen evidence of their work.
I know people who had their cars ripped off...

All panels and seats slashed and torn.
All glass and plastic is broken or cracked.
Paint remover or acid poured on all painted surfaces.
Insurance could not salvage anything in the car.

It's not pretty.
It's actually disgusting that people would go through all that trouble...

You would think that a car thief would just move on to another car instead of wasting time destroying one. But, car thieves aren't exactly the most rational people either.

How about a button labeled "Release Live Scorpions" and have it actually release live scorpions onto the driver's lap.

Then it would make people like Steve-O try to steal your car and get the scorpions to release on them on purpose.

Tin, I'm not supposed to say where exactly I work...not that I can, we're everywhere. It's one of the best jobs I've ever had. It's a big adrenaline rush, but every now and again, getting a gun pulled on you isn't fun, especially considering we don't carry any ourselves.

J

PS, My bad Aaron. Replying to a question.

My guess would be that a smash here and there would be common but if someone does all that to a car it is because it is insurance fraud. Look at the owner they ARE the thief, or exgirlfriend or other jealous SOB bottom line the end game was not to steal the car.

I dont live in the middle of nowhere either, My neighbors are VERY vigilant and almost always home.
