Too personal a decision to be asking.
Compelling arguments can be made either way, re: retain/delete PS.

I removed my power steering and installed a manual rack. In my opinion its one of the best mods Ive done and worth every bit of the $100 I spent on the rack. Its not hard at all. I can spin it lock to lock at a standstill with minimal effort.

if you have huge arms i would believe you but locking it out takes a lot of effort at a standstill.

Im 6'1, 230lbs, (prepared for fat jokes) but I dont consider myself to be all that strong. I can easily spin it lock to lock.

Steering wheel size and rim/ tire size make a difference on how hard it will be to turn it.

Big rims/tires and small steering wheel = much harder to turn standing still. Which is what i have. And i still stay remove the power steering.

I would rather keep power steering. It is a luxury to have, why take it out? Plus, if you let someone else drive your car, they will appreciate the fact that you kept it.

Letting a friend drive your 7 is like playing Russian roulette with your cars life, and your friendship.

^^^lol, I only let friends w/ rx-7's drive mine.

I recently replaced my p/s rack and rebuilt the pump, I had a manual rack in my last FC. There was minimal difference once moving and it did feel slightly more connected to the road, but parallel parking was a pain in the ***, as was any 5mph> manuvering. Plus, the ratio on the manual rack is slower, which I didn't like.

If you want to go manual, the best way is to properly depower your power rack which retains the quicker steering ratio, but that is far more effort than re-routing one IC pipe.

Not sure if you're into drifting (kinda ruled out road racing due to the FMIC, lol) but doing so w/ manual steering isn't exactly the most fun you'll have in life either...

Manual rack with the school bus ratio = fail. If you are into cornering fast or only drag racing with minimal street driving then remove it. Its a clear performance advantage but if you don't turn fast you won't be able to utilize it.

I wouldn't have my 17:1 rack any other way, but I don't commute with the car.

I have had both for about the same length of time. I have a power rack that is not even properly converted to manual and I can still turn with one hand at any speed.

At this point I am still impartial, power steering is nice, but I also like the stiff feel of manual.

Will you get tired of having no power steering in say, a year or two?

The factory power steering is awesome. Ever driven an FD? That power steering sucks. There is no steering feel in comparison to the FC. I had the Greddy FMIC piping modified to fit under my power steering.

S5 power steering was weaksauce. My Kia has a better road feel than the S5 powersteering. Manual rack is the only way to go. I've never driven an S4 with power steering so I can't comment on that.

If you have s4 power steering and it works, keep it.
