Question Keep from boosting???

My rebuild is about done. I was reading about the 1000 mile break-in procedure and it said to not to use boost.

Well, I've never owned a turbo before. So, the question is: How do I keep the turbo from boosting?

I've actually tried to research this but I can't find any topics on the subject.

I think u just want to keep under 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles..

I would keep the turbo on a little stock boost wont hurt I mean u need to break it in right...

if you realy want to stop from boosting disconnect the wastegate actuator so it wont build boost

Be light on the throttle, upshift instead of giving it more pedal.

OK, great, thanks. So, the turbo doesn't actually add boost until after somewhere around 4000 rpm?

no a stock turbo will add boost pretty easily under 4000rpm. You need to be really easy on the throttle. You will be accelerating very slow...

you could unhook the door from the actuator, which would make the wastegate open almost constantly.

if u run without the charge pipe I dont think the car will drive because it would be a big vac leak...

unless this is different on rotaries

just remember this stock engines were built turbo and driven with the turbo on them right off the floor.. and they last a long time.. and those engine I bet were not broken in perfectly...

just take it easy and u will be fine.
