just a quick question. what is this?
that is the capacitor (condenser per fsm) for the oil pressure guage. basically it just smoothes out the signal and keeps the needle from wiggling. you can toss it if you want, it has no real effect on anything.
very doubtful. Ive never seen one that actually changed the reading, it just mellows out the needle a little bit. chances are the wire is pulled off the sending unit, those clips suck, and thats a common wire to accidently knock off if you change plugs or anything.
its the little round thing maybe 2" in diameter that sticks out of the block under the oil filter. it just has 1 wire going to it, i believe its yellow/red, with a funky clip on the end.

I wouldn't toss it. From what I've heard it keeps the gauge from breaking due to random electrical surges or something like that. I'm not sure why you would just throw off a part. Hell, who needs an alternator?
