today i got a shitload of metal and my wire shipment came in...so its time to wire the body harness, make my dash and switch box just get all the electrical stuff sorted out!

here are some more pics the tube is 6"OD .254 thick, 12" long...should make for a very sexy surge tank

Updates required every 2 days maximum from now on or I'll report every post in this thread. I like this project because you're doing everything yourself.

ah lets see, 2 of my measuring tools, compac brand!!! they are sexy as hell

stepped drill bit for making fuel rails!

true military aerospace connector, 14guage, 28 pin, will use it for my engine harness to haltech

bernard water cooler..should help with welding for long periods, i picked it up with a torch and leads for $250..hell of a deal

aaaand got the haltech mounted, all wires nice and neat, got the front half of the cars body harness stuff wired and routed, once its all how i want it ill put it in some braided wire wrap...

hid's are installed and wired up, everything tucked and hidden..will not see a single wire in the engine bay, or brake lines for that matter...got my brake line stuff in the other day 100 feet of line for $40 and its coated!

Just curious why you chose such thick metal for a surge tank. Is it also going to be used as a structural member?
Keep the updates coming!

i actually requested .120" thickness and the guy gave me 1/4", i didnt even realize it on the paper since they are usually on point with getting what i asked for, i signed the cut order and that was it...no going back...thicker isnt really going to hurt anything, just a tad heavier. waiting on more $ so i can buy the an fittings and whatnot...

the deal around my city is this...if you want something made, buy the materials for 2 and ill make it for you...

they are hella brand lights...the projector lowbeams cost about $600 and the high beams cost about $140 for both then you have to make the bracket (which isnt all that hard) i didnt make this setup to be clear however i CAN make them very easily

I'm enjoying your thread so far, but shaving the high mount brake light?! If this is only a track car, I guess that makes sense. But on a street car, a high mount 3rd brake light has been proven to reduce rear-endings by a substantial amount. This is why they are legally required in most areas. Having been rear ended myself, I would never remove that light. In fact, I'm going to mount some super bright blinking LEDs like some motorcycles have.
