Just need some confermation

Hey I just need some confermation about something I am 90%sure about. I was driveing my 89 T2 around and I did not realise that my O2 sensor was disconected. Ah and then my car started running shitty. Like i said before, no power, didn't iddle blah blah blah. So what I am pretty sure what happend is that it caused back pressure and blew my apex seals apart. What do you think?

Are you asking that because the O2 sensor was unplugged your apex seals got blown apart? That's very doubtful that the O2 sensor would cause that, like pretty much impossible as far as I can think. The O2 sensor should only affect gas mileage, and very minorly at that.

You'd know if your seals were blown pretty well.

back pressure would not blow out apex seals.

Improper timing, or detonation, or lack of lubrication, or just plain worn out takes out apex seals.

and an O2 sensor would have little to do with your problem of low power.

having the O2 disconnected would cause the engine to run richer than normal, this usually is better for the engine than running lean. my O2 sensor has been dangling ever since i bought my car cause i haven't had the time to rewire it, i have put over 5k miles on it without an O2 sensor.

The ECU only reads the O2 during idle and cruise...
