Hi folks,
Just wanted to let you know that I have enlisted the help of several very talented local drivers to instruct. Some of them are nationally competitive drivers. You will be able to tap into a welath of autocross knowledge at this event and surely get more than your money's worth.
$50 is a bargain for the amount of seat time you will get and the level of instruction if you look at comparable event. Yes, most autocrosses are $25 but you usually only get 4 runs. We are planning to get well over 8 runs at this event (probably enough that you will be sick and tired of driving by the end of the day). With only 40 cars (keep in mind that most autocrosses have around 160 entries) you can expect a LOT more seat time and maximize your investment participating for this day. We are also going to try to start as early as reasonable to get as much time on course as we can.
If you are experienced and just want seat time, you do have the option decline instruction for the event (less extra weight).
Don't wait if you are interested and know you can come. Sign up soon since admission fees are set to increase November 3rd and I'm going to open up registration to the local autocross clubs, who will surely take up a decent number of the 40 spots. We are planning to have loaner helmets on site, so you shouldn't need to worry about that. Just bring yourself and your car (in good mechanical condition) to the event.
Oh yeah - the more RX-7's...the merrier. You wouldn't the some piston-powered vehicles to dominate and win in the different vehicle classes?
Lastly - if you haven't had the chance to put your car sideways (in a safe and legal manner) - this is it. Autocross is a good learning experience and the car control skills you learn are a good tool to have developed should the need arise to use them in an emergency.
