I hate to tell some of you guys but the manual rack has a closer ratio than the power steering rack, making it a better choice for some racers. Not saying that anyone here races or anything. Also the manual rack provides a better feel for the road.

Not to beat a dead horse (im sure its too late by now )
But Ive driven both and I can tell no difference in the feel really, and the looped PS rack DOES have LESS turns to lock. Im sure the manual looks cleaner minus the plugged steering gear and all though.

Nice snag man. I love Junkyards too....lots of good stuff there. As for the conversion from power to manual.....I will be trying that pretty soon. As the TII project continues.

The PS rack has 2.7 turns lock-to-lock and the manual has 3.0 turns lock-to-lock. A disabled power rack will be harder to turn than a manual rack due to the leverage difference.
Simple as that.
