So all i need for my swap NOWis the ECU out of a turbo model the same year and what other parts?if you could give me a link i would appreciate it or explain it to me any help would be awesome.

i heard something about driveshafts.

and dont just say search or FAQs cuz i tried and it gave me stuff that didnt apply to what i was looking for

88 N/A motor

You need

ECU, drive shaft from Mazda tricks, slave cylinder from turbo tranny, Throttle cable, TII AFM, TID, TII pressure sensor, fuel pump, exhaust work will be required, TII hood.

That should be it.

Turbo driveshaft won't work with N/A diff... mazdatrix sells a custom driveshaft for just that purpose.

Seriously?

http://www.mazdatrix.com -> RX-7 -> Transmission, Differential and Driveshafts -> Driveshafts

http://www.mazdatrix.com/g9.htm

If you are having a hard time finding that, you're going to have an awefully hard time with this swap as it is the most difficult of turbo swaps.

First things first. Do a little searching on these JDM engines people are buying. You do know that you are buying a motor out of a junk yard right? J-spec means Junk spec. anyways its a great idea to get the motor rebuilt, ported, and unpgrade to all the goodies like FD corner seals and all that stuff so you know you have a good engine to start with. Remember this is a engine out of a bone yard car. Next I would take all 4 fuel injectors and send them off to Cruzin performance to get them cleaned and flow tested so you don't blow your motor. And finally I would replace the clutch and flywheel with a ACT clutch/flywheel package they sell together now. Then once thats taken care of you can really start dropping some coin to mod it out. Set aside about 10k.

sounds good ive got money to spend. anyone reccomend doing a rebuild myself because there arent many rotary specific places around where i live. also websites where i can buy a good rebuild kit?

again the ECU i need to buy does it have to be from a turbo model of the SAME year or can it be turbo from diff year?

and i planned on buying new injectors so having my current ones cleaned and everything isnt really a big deal. i wont be driving this car until next summer. so time and money arent a concern. i dont plan on putting the engine in until 2-3 months from now.

its my winter project

See the archives. I have a rebuild thread which goes through the process, and there are several archived topics that cover rebuild kits.

Same series. If it's an S5 engine with S5 harness, you need the S5 ECU. Keep in mind that swapping an S5 engine into an S4 car requires significant rewiring under the dash. It's nowhere near as easy as S4 to S4.

You need a 13b from a S4 car and you need a S4 TII ECU or a N338 out of a 1988 S4 Convertable, only this model will be adiquit for a 13bt S4.
