Need your help now!!

i have an 88 N/A

my car ran with 3 inch exhaust and non filtered intake. then i replaced the header and put the intake back on. Now it doesnt run. It has fuel. The battery also has charge. and the battery is connected. it actually did start for a second when there was no intake hose connected and the only exhaust that was on was a racing beat header. the oxygen sensor is not connected. i have the air pump removed as well as A/C. like i said im not sure whats wrong and ANY help would be appreciated. any links or steps i can go through. right now im trying to start it with header connected O2 sensor not connected and i have the intake tube and MAF on. like i said i would appreciate any help

Well make sure your intake plumbing and everything is connected correctly. Then make sure the MAF is not tilted one way or the other. It has to be on straight. How come you dont have the O2 sensor on? Did the headers not come with an 02 sensor hook-up? Put it on if you can.

If the MAF is not on right, your car will not run.

Ya like it cannot be set too far tilted to the right/left unless you have something like Super AFC from Apexi to be able to tune it. So it ran with the MAF totaly disconnected? For how long? From all that your telling us the problem should be with the MAF.

yeah i had NO intake hose like the intake was on but not the black hose. it ran for maybe 5 seconds with a high high idle. i bought the car from a previous owner who kind of messed things up and im trying to get it all back in order. how should the MAF be facing exactly. is that the ONLY thing that can be wrong with it?

the AFM or MAF, should be facing up and down. you want the black part of it facing up, and the metal finned side down, to be totally correct I believe, but as long as its up and down, not side to side. I just read a post on this earlier today. Make sure all your vacuum lines are all hooked up, and get the O2 sensor also wired in there.

Im not sure how common this is, or even if its a problem, but there could be cracks in you air intake duct. which may also cause a problem, I know this is sometimes an issue on TII's
