Its Running!!!!!!!!!

Well I finally got all my problems fixed and it ran. Stupid me forgot a coolant hose so it kinda went everywhere. Put that back on and its started just fine.
My only question is that there is a very slight vibration and there is a pretty hefty rattle coming from the engine bay. But other than that it was running on its own idling and everything

My dad said that it me be a slight ping, but I haven't had the time to check the timing and what not. But the rattle was definatly noticable when I would tap the gas.

check your pulleys. make sure they are all tight. one loose bolt will make the whole thing off balance.

Well the rattle/vibration is something in the clutch. I think that the slave cylinder is screwed up/installed incorrectly.
When the clutch pedal is out there is the rattle. And when if pedal is fully depressed it goes away, but the clutch doesn't work at all. If I try to start the car in gear with the clutch pedal to the floor, it will still move.

Yeah, nice work getting it started. Now drive it and report back to us as to how it sounds at 7500 rpm.

*edit* if the rattle goes away with the clutch depressed and the clutch can not be fully released, I would guess (as have you) that the clutch slave cylinder is loosely bolted to the tranny bellhousing. Did you port this engine when you rebuilt it? I'd be interested to know how it pulls.
