i think i am goingt o get a 240sx to get me through the rest of my 2 college years. i cant really justify spending money on a car that slow (they do look good however) but i'll be putting a SR20DET in it, so it will be about the speed of my turbo2. does anyone on here have a 240sx?
There are more options for fast cars, if interested. I'll give ya a rundown of the cars I know about.
Mitsubishi Starion - up to 1989
Pros: Fast little things. Late models had 180hp. Turbo.
Cons: Head problems. Count on having to get a new one.
Nissan 300ZX - 1985-1989
(note, they made a 1984, but I would not buy an 84 due to the fact that the turbo was no water cooled until 1985)
Pros: Comfy. Smooth ride. Lots of torque. very reliable.
Cons: heavy, a bit slower than RX's. Some people think they are ugly.
Isuzu Impulse Turbo - up to 1989
Pros: decent fast in turbo form. Lotus suspension. Neat looks.
Cons: Very hard to find. Parts availability is low.
Mazda MX6/Ford Probe GT Turbo - up to 1992?
Pros: Mazda MX6 good looking car. Fast. Cheap.
Cons: Ford probe version is ugly. Front wheel drive sucks.
Toyota Supra Turbo 1986-1993
Pros: Good aftermarket. Fast. Looks good.
Cons: Blown head gasket. heavy as some cadillacs.
Dodge Daytona Turbo
Pros: Quite fast. unique styling.
Cons: It's a dodge. Its front wheel drive.
Chevrolet Corvette 1984-1986
Pros: ***** to the wall torque. Babe magnet. Goes fast, stops fast. Parts are cheap as dirt (standard chevy 350 on 1984 and 85 models)
Cons: Not the most reliable car, old GM product. Everyone hates you when you drive a corvette.
That about sums up the cars ive driven/owned. All these are what i would consider "fast" cars for the money, which is around the 2000-6000 dollar range (yes, nice C4 Corvettes can be had for 6000, just gotta keep an eye out
)

you think so?
i would just like to have a decently fast car that doesnt look like **** (mk3 supra, most of the cars listed above) and is around 5000 bucks total...
and unfortunately, the rx7 and 240sx are probably the only cars that look decent and have good performance for being made in the late 80's early 90's while also being cheap.

First off, damn it jacob, i told you to swap out your harness with the spare i had... i wish we had done that.... sorry man. Second, i know you're a lazy bum that dosen't like to work, so get a first gen. You can pick a running one up for about 500, and it will last you the two years. Not to mention i have the spare parts to fix on lying around. Just my two cents....
...and I have just the car to sell him too. 85 GS, manual windows, no sunroof, 5sp, needs an engine and a clutch. Good body, needs paint (pass. door primered), window tint, EXCELLENT INTERIOR.Sell it cheap...
a nice fastback 240 is a sweet car, '92 + has a slightly revised fron facia and super hicas...personally a black '91 SE would be my choice. the stock motor gets a lotta downplay, but with the reg. bolt ons and some mild cams it's actually a fun motor for an everyday sports car!!!

Man that really sucks. I dont know what I would do in your case to lose so much so easily..

I know this is kinda rude, but if youre looking for a nice T2, I may be selling mine in a few months if the price is right. I want to sell it to someone who will appreciate it (like yourself) not some douche
I really feel for you man, and best of luck

If you'll goto a reputable body shop they will have connections to MANY large salvage yards. Get some phone numbers from them and call around. You cold probably pick up a second gen that has been rear ended with the front end untouched for a couple hundred bucks.
