Installing ACC carpet. Need advice.

My son purchased front carpet from Rock Auto, which came from ACC.
The molding in the carpet is 'generally' OK, but not perfect.

There is bagginess in some places, not enough of a molding ridge in others, and we're getting folds/extra carpet in some.

There's a crappy video where the 3 most troublesome spots are. LINK TO VIDEO

Has anyone had similar issues? I'm thinking that we may need to use some sort of carpet adhesive to glue this down to the floor of the car. Not sure what to do about the wrinkles/folds on the passenger side.

Overall, I'm not happy with the fit of the ACC carpet, but since it's the most affordable solution, I need to make it work.

I'm wondering if something like THIS would work for us.

Try a heat gun on the folds/wrinkles. Spray water on the carpet and use the heat gun, but must go slow.
If need be, might also want to consider 3m trim adhesive.

What turbonut said. It's kind of like getting wrinkles out of curtains. Just don't get the heat gun too close or you'll melt the carpet.

In my time here, I have never seen anyone say anything good about that ACC carpet, it's just **** apparently. I understand though as pretty much the only other option is to have an upholstery shop do custom carpet.

somebody on here not too long back picked up some kind of black carpet from walmart, and made it fit. Turned out nice to, and it was cheap.

It was airport carpet tiles if I am not mistaken and yeah it did look good. Just got to do some cutting.

I sent a video to ACC. They thought it looked like a production problem. Rock Auto is sending a new carpet. Hopefully the new one works better.

Rock Auto sent a new carpet. At first I thought it fit better, but after struggling with it for 4+ hours, decided it's not any better. It is different, but not better.

I can not recommend the 2nd Generation carpet from Auto Custom Carpets, Inc. I did get it in, but with considerable gaps between the carpet and floor on the passenger side, as well as extra material/folds at the door sills on both sides. The carpet is not molded as well as the factory carpet.

I went through the same issue with mine. Too much material in some places, not enough in others, and the mold lines for the seat rails and related were nowhere near adequate. No amount of heat gunning would get things lined up. Took about 5 days worth of evenings to have an even passable install.

Now, it was 10% the cost of an OEM carpet set, for about 10% the quality. So I guess acceptable in that regard. Not that I'd ever recommend it to anyone else.
