injector question "Pintle Cap"

ok so i broke the plastic thing on the end of the injector called the "Pintle Cap" which i then orderd from http://www.mazdatrix.com/C-6.HTM shipping was great and im very happy, but there seems to be a difference from the one they gave me and what it used to have. here are two pics of another injector i have with the stock tip and then the one they sent me. Is there any reason why this new one would not work.

the top injector is old one with stock cap, the bottom injector is the one with no cap, and the cap they sent me is in the middle
thanks

as long as the pintle is the same LENGTH as the original, it shouldn't be a prob...those look like the ones I got back from Cruzin Performance when he redid 'em...

Last time I ordered those pintle caps they were far too long. You shouldn't have to trim product for it to fit.
I now source them locally.

Thats the way they make the new ones, something about it sprays the fuel more evenly for better atomization or something. I was wondering the same thing when I bought mine.. So dont worry, its supposed to be like that.

Scathcart I believe he is talking about the bore size in the center of the cap, which is much larger than the stock one.

Yes, if the length is different, you have the wrong one.

Yes, I got that about the bore size, but the thing still does not fit otherwise.

Use a thin oil as lubricant and apply gentle pressure.

For what its worth, the place i source mine from says they are really just there to protect the pintle. Thats about all. I don't know how accurate that is but that what they said.
