injector question... pics. 56k ok!
these injectors are denso part number 195500-1370
i searched to see what the deal was them and found a pic...
first a pic of mine....
and now the pic i found when i searched.....
the one on the right is the 550, like mine but there is a difference!! where the harness plugs in there is a tab, mine is off center to the right about 3/4 of the way over.
the one in the pic, and the kind my car needs has the tab in the center.?..?
I have a 87 tii that they put a engine in and my mechanic said that it had the wrong injectors and thats the problem.
so now the ones they were in the car (ones in the pic) are cleaned and for sale but i dont know if they are high or low imp... I have a 87 TII and the switch is that year so i dont know what engine they put in it. man im soo confused.
any help would be great.

ok good... neevosh you and my mechanic agree.
my car needs low imp injectors and they got a 87 tii motor with high imp ones and made it fit. Thats why i got the car for $700 with new motor... can we say muwahahaha!
thanks again

the clip does not determan the resistance. it determans the year. the 87-88 are different clip then then 89-91 (not sure which is which)
but the 87 are low and the 88 are high. so both high and low have the same clip.

If the notch is not centered they are low, if it is oval or off center they are hi... Halfway past the year 1987 they came off center that is when the impedance swap took place.

right? i took out the "not"
Wanted to ask a quick question. You are not supposed to run the inline resistor with high impedence injectors, right? What will happen if you do? I just figured out that I have a 87 harness with resistor block that I have hooked up to 88 high impedence injectors.
Thanx for resurrecting a thread almost 4 years old...
Running resistors in series with high impedence fuel injectors won't do anything harmful.
If anything, you'd maybe get slight hesitations on throttle transitions.

Wow can't make anyone happy here. If he didn't resurrect an old thread to ask a question then he would have just been told to "search" which is the generic response that most people give here. Be happy. At least he searched! However for searching he gets the line about resurrecting an old thread. You just can't win here. At least you answered his question which is more than most people do.
resistors inline with high-imp injectors would restrict the current available to open them. They are designed to open against a the fuel-rail pressure with a certain current... if they have less than that they will open more slowly, or wont open at all. The problems you'll experience from this can range from absolutely nothing to sluggish behavior and lean conditions to a blown engine.

The resistor package has five wires in it.
One wire is 12vdc and is the *middle* one. Black/Yellow if memory serves.
So. Take the resistor package out of the car.
Cut the harness in the middle. Put the resistors on the back shelf.
Then take the plug with the five wires, and splice ALL five wires together. Cover with shring tubing so it won't short to anything.
Plug the spliced outfit back into the harness.
Your done. You now have no resistanvce other than the injectors coils resistance. Fini

Thanks Hailers. I think this may have been my problem, but I already have decided to upgrade to a Microtech LT10s so I shouldn't have to worry about it since it comes with a new harness. Thanks.
