Injector problem?

For starters, i have an 87 TII, it has always had starting issues once in a blue moon,
where sometimes i would crank it up and it would die and just...flood, so i took the easy way out of that problem by installing a fuel cut off switch to just flick off and right back on when it decides to do this.

Then, just recently, i lost my idol. once it drops below 1k rpms, it revs back up to 1k then bounces back up and down once or twice then just dies. My timing is fine, my tps has been adjusted and my bac valve has also been adjusted but the thing just wont idol for me.

Oh, and after running my car and turning it off, if i open my hood and smell near the intake manifold, you can clearly smell gas and i was thinking this could be leaky primary injectors and wanted to get an opinion if this sounds like the symptoms.

Reeky Fuel

Sounds like injector "o' rings, they reeky reeky. Reeky rings start up, then no idle.
Idle, warm up, then die. I've had that problem once..... Took apart the intake like 4times before I got it.

yea, after posting this, i was reading up on the pulsation damper and could see that would be causing the smell, but would that also cause the low idol? (would the banjo bolt mod fix this?)

The Banjo bolt mod is bad voodoo. (I AM NOT SAYING I'M FOR OR AGAINST IT!!)
Just do a search on that and be sure you understand all the ramifications of doing it before you begin, in the past it has been the subject of much heated debate.
As to weather it would cause low idle.... Check fuel line pressure and vaccume,
if it's good then probably not...

well, to prevent any possible fire to my car i think im going to go ahead and put in the bolt and probably get an aftermarket fpr with a pd in it (any suggestions?)

as for the idoling issue, would this be leaky injectors? ive looked all around on the car and haven't found a vacuum leak so i think i can rule that out.
