Increased steering angle by washers/spacers

Yes, I've searched. Duh. So many threads are left with questions unanswered and ignored.

I'm on a budget, and need some more steering angle temporarily. I'm planning on adding washers or spacers between the steering rack and the inner tie rod.

The problem is, I don't know how many mm of washers/spacers to run in between the rack and tie rod. I need to safely keep enough thread between the rack and inner tie rod as well.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

0.300" MAX.
For safety, keep it to 1/4" (0.250") or about 6mm.

Keep mind that you NEED to get the car realigned, and you cannot eyeball this yourself.
So take the car immediately to an alignment shop, or the car can be downright dangerous to drive.

i dont understand what you would accomplish by putting washers behing the inner tie rods causing it to toe out and then aligning it into spec. Sorry if im missing something could someone tell me

You are spacing out the bumpstops on the rack and pinion, giving more turns lock to lock, and allowing the wheels to turn further.
The change in alignment is a by-rpoduct of this action, which must be corrected once finished.

any downsides to these kits? says adjustable for bumpsteer which is nice.

is this an easier way to rip out my fenders if its lowered?
springs will be fairly stiff so im thinking that would help from them getting ripped out in any case :-P
