I would think there would be carbon buildup issues from it sitting so damn much. Dunno, I'm not an expert though.

After sitting for a while the carbon build up might lock the engine or just alot builds up from it not gettin much use... When you drive it, make sure to do a full tune up, first. Then after its warm and no problems have occured... give it some hard driving. Get that **** outta there!

And, are your apex seals needing replacement? I'm not sure.. Get a compression test before you buy the car. And if they do need replacement (low compression) You will need an engine rebuild.

I agree. I dont mean to burst your bubble or anything but $6,200 is kinda high for an S4. I would go as far as to say really high. Especially for what looks like a basically stock engine bay. If it was a Toyota or something, that 39k might be great, but like was said before, carbon build up and possbily sludgy oil and fuel running through there could be a problem. And at $6,200 I dont think you want to be paying for a rebuild anytime soon. Anyways, do what you feel is right and I hope you enjoy it!!! Have fun!!!

you have nothing to worry about as far as carbon build up..ask Kevin Landers...i think out of thousands of motors he has seen one with enough carbon build up to brake the motor...change ALLl the fluids when you get it...brake it in as if it were a new car and then drive it hard to clear out the motor and the exhaust...

I got the car...................it is sooooooooooooo sweat! IMO. I got it for 6100. It boost so good.........no turbo lag at all it has been simplified to two vacuum lines . It has a 3in Apexi turbo back exhaust sys. intake, turbo timer, bov, and fuel deflector(I think taht's what it's called) whatever it is it is keeps the 2nd rotor going at high rmm's ..............it has 550cc injectors I need to get bigger secondary injecttors............I saw on my boot gauge I'm hittng 15psi............Should it be that high?........It was tuned by banziracing.com

I think TII's only boosted up to 5-6 psi. Hell I know for sure that you're getting more boost than a stock FD. Anyone thinks he's getting a boost spike? That or the previous owner up the boost with out changeing the fuel injectors?

15 psi = boost creep = undersized wastegate
+
fuel cut defender
+
550 cc = undersized injectors = no fuel mod

=

KABOOM

The car was bought in 1987 by an old man as his retirement gift for himself......he only drove it on weekends..........he sold it to the second owner in December of 2003.....the second owner bought it as a project car. He wanted a very clean car to use as a project.......he drove it once in a while but put $ into it with the mods......he bgought it for 6900K and put 2k worth of mods into it.......he had to sell it cause he just got a house.....The car had 39k original miles on it when I got it.

I'm brand new to RX7's and turbos (I know the basics of turbos, but I don't claim to be some kind of guru or anything like that) I don't want my engine blowing up......The owner told me to get 750cc secondary injectors If I wanted to run high rpm's for a prolonged time. I really want your guys input..........What should I do to make sure no kaboom? It only gets up to 15psi when iI'm in 5th and reallly on it

15 psi on stock feul system is bad, i have walbro pump and 780 sec's and my car sees only like 12 psi, i wont let it go higher till it gets tuned and a better computer for the bigger injectors. Dont floor it in higher gears, thatll cause boost creep because the wastegate cant keep up with the turbo. SO i suggest porting the wastegate, search, ive seen a really good thread on it. And just watch the boost, dont let it go past 10 at the most, try to keep it around 6-8 to be safe. I got a S4 turbo also, u can pm me with any other questions if ya need any help. AIM= t2romad

nice and clean, but why $6100??? 15psi, stock fuel and stock intercooler??? anyways clean car just pick up where the previouse owner left off, you dont want it to be a $6000 mistake...

^^ yeah the intercooler will not be able to cool good with that much boost. Your turbo will be blowing really hot air, and low intake charge temps are good
