Highly recommend additional grounding

Two thumbs up. Picked up some 4 gauge wire from a stereo shop, then went to the auto store and got some copper 4 gauge wire connectors. I ran a wire from the negative battery terminal to the strut tower. then another wire from the battery to the front iron plate on the engine. Big difference in idle quality, much much smoother. Head lights dont really affect idle that much anymore and volts stay at 14.3 all the time. Highly recommend for everyone.

I've gotten rid of a huge 3800 stumble on a customer's TII be fully regrounding with 8guage audio stuff, and this car had its factory grounds clean and tight. I'll admit, it works.

I've done something similar, it's a good idea. It also helps to have the starter bolt tightened all the way.

4 gauge? You must have some HUGE *** caps to run anything that requires 4-awg wire
Plus if headlights are affecting idle you prolly have other wiring problems...
But definitely a good idea.

Well my idle was dropping from when I turned on the head lights and fog lights. This is of course because I dont have BAC hooked up right now. The electrical load caused this, makes sense to me. It still drops a little bit but not very much.

Actually...

When the headlilghts add draw on the system, the alternator kicks in a bit more, which inturn would kick on the BAC if you're at idle. Maybe your BAC is dirty and not working.

word of advise:
dont ground the boost/pressure sensor if u are na.

it fucked my car up for a week.

you might have grounded the wrong wire. I grounded mine and now theres no stumble what so ever on my 86 and lots of 86's that i know about have the most problem with the 3800 stumble.

On my Wolf powered car, with no BAC, the idle doesn't change when I apply extra electrical load (lights, efan etc) They key is to have your voltage compensation maps optimized.

Yea I know, mine arent set at all. I'm having Alex at CarbConnection tune my car when he gets done with this FC hes doing a wolf install on. Hes been installing and tunning wolfs for a while so im sure he will get them set. For now car is runs good enough to drive around on.
